For this project, we used techniques we learned in the classroom to come up with the best deliverables. My partners and I were assigned to tell a story through audio and visual advertisements. This was to show the importance of our technical skills being consistent with the story we are trying to tell. Over the course of this project we learned that with such short ads, we needed to get to the point to hook the audience. Our target for our audio and video advertisements was people in retirement. Our video ad consisted of making the last scene hold for longer, making it easier to read. To get creative, we experimented with sound effects and music choices. We did this by finding soundbites that the average listener may not have heard before. In the end, this project allowed my partners and I to relearn some technical skills, while also learning about what it takes to make an advertisement effective.
